Passover Holiday Meaning to the Jewish People Celebrating Freedom
The Passover is meant to celebrate the freedom of the Jewish people from the Egyptians nearly 3,300 years ago. Explained in the book of Exodus, God directed Moses and Hebrews to offer and consume roasted lamb to symbolize the Passover sacrifice. They were then instructed to spread the blood of the lamb on the doorposts and lintel to serve as a sign to pass over the home thus protecting them from the last plague - death of the first born son.

Monotheism and Hindu Polytheism
The development of human society is always accompanied by the development of different religious beliefs. Traditional view on the religious progress is regarded as the evolution of a certain religion beginning from the earliest signs and the most primitive forms of religious perception of the surrounding reality, such as animism, through polytheism to monotheism.

Are We Verbally Abusing God?
I read an excellent devotional based on this text. The famous verse Exodus 20:7 says; you shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. (New International Version)

Why We Don't Pray
OmyGodIamheartilysorryforhavingoffendedThee was not an act of contrition, a prayer, or even an afterthought when I was growing up. It was always the penance imposed by my parish priest, after he was subjected to my laundry list of sinful misdoings in the monthly confessional. But to me it was a conglomeration of arcane mumblings that I couldn't race through fast enough on my way out of Church. At that time I had no idea of what I was saying. Now I realize the power and purpose of those words, but their early impressions on me and my play pals was enough to discourage my development of the beautiful art of prayer for many years.

I Am Holy
I offer an understanding of what it means to be presenting a holy consciousness. Holy consciousness would mean that we have reached the highest of ethical standards, the purest of our thought forms, the best of our potential, the most open hearted we could be, unconditional love, a pureness of heart, harboring no evil, no hate, no prejudices, no judgments. Although few may ever reach this realm or state of consciousness, we ought to understand what it would look like. A self evaluation of holy consciousness might assist us towards this process of obtaining higher consciousness.

The Real Question
The question still remains unanswered. If the creation is so complex as to require a creator, how did an even more complex and awesome creator somehow evolve? Where is the evidence that any of the statements recorded in a host of holy books came directly from that evolved being? I’m waiting for a comprehensible, provable answer – not passionate opinions.

Prior to 1948, Israel last existed as an independent nation in 606 B.C. when the first captives of Israel were taken by Nebuchadnezzar. The destruction of Israel at the hands of the Babylonians was completed in 587 B.C. with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple...

The Death of Religion and Birth of Common Sense?
Have you noticed the slow death of some religions in the world and the growth of others. What is your thinking on this? The reason I ask is that this same topic seems to be a re-occuring conversation at the Online Think Tank; World Religion and its influence on human societies and civilizations.
